The Cloud-based business: Explained
What is “the Cloud?” Here’s what you find using a Google Search:
cloud-based Computing (of digital data) stored, managed, and processed on a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet, rather than on local servers or personal computers: a commercial cloud-based platform | cloud-based services | HR platforms are increasingly cloud-based.
So,“the Cloud” is a bunch of computers connected to the Internet that processes (software) and stores files. The name sounds magical and enables tech companies to leverage the mystique so Cloud services can be bought and sold so (mostly) you can store your files off site. Great as a redundant system to save your data although I do still find it funny when people refer to it like some new thing since it’s been around for decades.
Have you wondered how “the Cloud” helps businesses to run? Here’s a short and simple infographic deck I developed to help explain the anatomy of a cloud-based business. It includes the advantages of Cloud computing, overview of Cloud service types, and a Cloud integration diagram.
